Captain Craboo is the 14th & 15th episode of the second season of We Bare Bears and the 40th & 41st episode overall. It is the first 22 minute full-length episode and aired on September 5, 2016[2] on Cartoon Network.
Synopsis[]
The Bears are reunited with their pet crab, Captain Craboo. But after an unfortunate run-in with Nom Nom, the Bears may lose their pet forever.
Plot[]
The episode starts with Ice Bear waking up and putting on his apron, and realizes that it is torn up. Panda screams, running into Ice Bear while holding Mr. Penguin, who had his head ripped off. Grizzly enters wearing a red onesie and sees that it's also torn. They all look in horror as they realize their entire house has been destroyed.
Ice Bear sees a trail of torn cloth and they all follow it to the bathroom. As the toilet lid rattles vigorously, Panda lifts it to reveal Captain Craboo. Although Grizzly and Panda are happy to see their lost pet, Ice Bear is not. It flashes back to the events of "Emergency".
Ice Bear is then seen trying to attack Craboo, but the others stop him. Grizzly believes it's time to free Captain Craboo so he scoops him up with a dustpan and tries to get him outside, but Ice Bear forcefully sweeps him out. Panda and Grizzly feel sorry for Captain Craboo in the rain, but Ice Bear gets over him quickly. Grizzly decides to bring Craboo back inside until the storm ends. When Grizzly puts Craboo on the sofa, Craboo does a backflip, filling Grizzly and Panda with awe. Panda then makes Captain Craboo cut some paper, he cuts it into a shape of the Bears. They decide to keep Craboo.
Next is montage of Grizzly and Panda using Craboo for cutting things and them taking him on a walk, all the while Captain Craboo is causing mischief and only Ice Bear seems to be aware.
The next scene shows Ice Bear going to his fridge but sees Captain Craboo and tries to get him to go away. He then scratches his head, Captain Craboo copies. Ice Bear is surprised by it and does a lot of hand actions to see if Captain Craboo copies, which he does. When he tries to do a "Peekaboo" sign, Craboo runs away. Ice Bear then goes to sleep but is wakened by his brothers who want to take Craboo to the pet shop.
When they get to the pet shop, they realize Nom Nom is there. Ice Bear and Panda don't want to go because Nom Nom is acting like a dingle and a sourpuss but Grizzly thinks he can get a photo of Craboo with Nom Nom. They enter and meet Nom Nom, who isn't happy to see them. Not Nom is disgusted by Craboo and threatens to call security. They try to go but Nom Nom then pushes Ice Bear over. Grizzly and Panda are shocked and Craboo then jumps on Nom Nom and nips both his ears. Nom Nom screams in panic and then Captain Craboo lands on Ice Bear, who starts to like Captain Craboo. However, Nom Nom's Security take Captain Craboo, handcuff him and take him to jail, making the Bears angry and despressed.
Meanwhile in prison, Captain Craboo has had his pinchers restrained, but the bears promise they will get him out soon, using themselves as lawyers under the promise that love will help them win. The next day, Captain Craboo is taken to court, where the Bears testify for Captain Craboo. The Bears do well in defending Captain Craboo. Unfortunately, Nom Nom has given himself a series of false bandages to make sure Craboo looks guilty. He then lies, claiming he was advertising pet shampoo when Captain Craboo attacked him, even going so far as to claim that he had cut off one of his fingers. Grizzly fights back by showing the court several pictures of Captain Craboo, and calling Panda as a witness. However, despite his sincere testimony and just before the judge rules them innocent, Nom Nom fakes and makes it seem like Captain Craboo attacks him causing the judge to object the crab guilty for endanger the society. Having had enough of Nom Nom's lies, Ice Bear steps in and saves Captain Craboo from the police. The four of them escaped but Nom Nom furiously demands the police find them.
In the news, the reporter launched an headline news that a crab attacked Nom Nom is now at large and wanted by several police officers. The crab owners are bears who dislikes Nom Nom's lies are now in a punishable offence after become wanted for the incident.
Back at the forest. The Bears and Captain Craboo return back to their cave, only to discovered they were unable to return to their house since the police have already commandeered it.
Despite the incident, they camp outside for the night, and Panda sings with a guitar app, bringing them all together. Then he then wonders that they may have been selfish with Captain Craboo, due to them being the reason that he was even arrested in the first place. Grizzly agrees, and as a result, they decides to figure it out in the morning.
The next morning, Panda goes out for breakfast for their brothers, Captain Craboo and himself but disaster strikes when he spots the police have found them thanks to a photo Panda had taken of Captain Craboo being tagged by its location. Not long after Panda wakes his brothers, the police find them, and they embark on a chase that leads them into a lumber cutting plant. They're chased into a saw mill, where Officer Murphy and his partner get the top of their car sawed off, while the bears escape on the roof. They jump onto a lumber truck, but the police corner it, causing the wood to snap off and roll downhill. Ice Bear manages to get them up a tree, but Murphy's partner, still driving the damaged police car, follows them. He abandons the car, causing it to crash into the logs and explode. The tree then topples, and they crash near the ocean. They then decide to set him free into the ocean, but Murphy's partner corners them, demanding Craboo be surrendered to him. They ditch him by jumping onto a car, prompting the officer to inform command. They are almost caught, but Ice Bear manages to jump onto another car to avoid them.
Unfortunately, the cops stubbornly refuse to give up causing to summon backup responding offices, so Ice Bear jumps from car to car, eventually landing onto a student driver's car. At this point, the chase has been broadcasted onto the news, and their friends are all watching the action unfold. Nom Nom, now inside a helicopter, then attempts to take Captain Craboo via grapple gun, but the bears refuse to let him go. Eventually, he slips out of their grasp, but Nom Nom is forced to let him go when Captain Craboo snaps his nose. He then lands onto the pilot's head, causing him to bail. Nom Nom then attempts to get the other parachute, but Captain Craboo grabs it, prompting Nom Nom to throw both him and the parachute out of the helicopter. Ice Bear saves Captain Craboo by jumping for him while Nom Nom crashes but survives after the helicopter explodes.
In the aftermath, Panda warns that the police will be their soon quickly but they realized sending the crab away to safety is the best option. So the bears say their goodbyes, but Captain Craboo doesn't leave until he has Ice Bear mimic him by covering his eyes, then proceeds to leave into the ocean. The police then arrive and secure the beach, only to learn of Captain Craboo's departure. They then find Nom Nom, who immediately demands the Bears' arrest, only to be arrested himself for disorderly conduct, lying, accused the bears to get them in trouble without the proof, refused to admit the wrongdoings, kicking the sand at the officer's shoes and pushing Ice Bear over as revenge causing Captain Craboo jumps on Nom Nom and nips both his ears. With the spoiled brat koala is taken to custody, Officer Murphy escort the bears back to the city.
The episode ends with the Bears are then sentenced to community service, for a total of five hundred hours. While the Bears are cleaning up, the come across a paper shaped Bears made by Craboo making them all greatly miss Craboo, and realized somewhere out there, they eventually meet him again. Meanwhile, on an unknown island, Craboo lives freely, snipping a large assortment of objects to resemble the Bears, showing that he misses them too.

- This is the first half-hour episode of We Bare Bears.
- Following "Emergency", this is the second episode to feature Captain Craboo.
- Just by glancing at Captain Craboo triggers a flashback of Ice Bear getting clamped in the ear by the crab in "Emergency". This causes him to act hostile towards Captain Craboo.
- Captain Craboo's design is notably different from when he made his debut in "Emergency".
- This episode marks the third that features a song sung by Panda. The first one is "Girl Be Sellin' Sunshine" and the second is "If Only That Day Was Today".
- Captain Craboo ends up at the same island where the Baby Bears were stuck and surrounded with Karla and Dave when they were kids in the episode "The Island".
Cultural References[]
- When referring to the damage caused to their home, Panda speculates the perpetrator may be scissor-handed. This is possibly a reference to "Edward Scissorhands".
- When Officer Harris confronted the Bears on top of a bended tree, their conversation (Grizzly: Our Craboo's innocent!, Officer Harris: I don't care!) mirrored the famous lines of Dr. Richard Kimble (Harrison Ford) and Deputy Samuel Gerard (Tommy Lee Jones) from the 1993 action film The Fugitive.
Errors[]
- Despite already wearing contacts, Panda is seen wearing a pair of glasses in order to read a newspaper. However, he may have just taken his contacts out for this period of time.
- Near the beginning of the episode, when it starts raining, from the inside out in the windows, no rain seems to be visible.
- At times when Panda was playing the guitar on his phone, the strings don't move.
